BFI Sunday the results

Well guys its all over and I have to thank you all for a truly monumental day. 14 people turned out for 4 rounds of fast and furious BFG action.

On the whole I think the day went well, there are of course things as the organiser that I'd do differently next time (and there will be a next time - it was just too much fun), but I got round to seeing most of you play on the day, and all of you seemed to be having fun.

Stand out moments for me included:

- Watching an Admirals flagship fail a critical brace roll, from a long range torpedo salvo, that was the only thing that stopped Richard from getting his admiral off the board in the blockade run mission.
- Joel's Chaos fleet bearing down on blackstone 6, making their boarding role and then launching a nasty volley just as JD's Imperials came into range of the station. Chaos hulked the station but it could have been so much more deadly if the blackstone had suffered a plasma overload.
- Gary's Orks going up against Rob's chaos in the heart of the Bellos star, that one looked like a blood bath!
- Richard picket line disintegrating whilst desperately trying to stop a chaos fleet from launching an exterminatus on his home planet
- And of course Justins chorus of 'Who let the squigs out' in round 4 and the Orky 'Hold on Ladz' everytime his ships took a pummeling (fairly regular)
- By far the hardest though was judging the painting competition. There were three standout fleets and I eventually had to involve Justin and Sue (Da Misses) to help me make the final decision.

The finals scores are as follows:

Congratulations to
Richard Henderson (Best Painted)
Justin Blankley (Best Sportsman)
Travis Kirke (Best Captain)
Tom White (Legendary Admiral & the Arnie Award)
Black Squadron for team score

The numbers above the column headings indicate the maximum score in each of the categories. Note that Best Captain and Legendary Admiral were the two categories that could not be won by the same person, so although Tom scored highest in Best Captain, the honour went to the second highest score because he'd already won the Legendary Admiral award.
